The mouth speaks!

Garth, known only by his first name and his highly successful business Garth's Equipment Shoppe and monopoly on all things tradeable, is a retired fighter turned wares-dealer having struck partnerships with blacksmiths in every region and highly knowledgeable of most anything retrieved from the wild.

Garth is "one of yesterday's almost forgotten heroes, now retired from active adventuring to supply tomorrow's would-be greats"1, "a retired hero whose deeds are recalled in many a Bard song, so his knowledge of weaponry and other artifacts is vast"2,

His chain of stores spans from Skara Brae to the six cities of the plains - but on Tarjan's return to Skara Brae, Garth was run out of the realm, and his business, just as with others like Roscoe's Energy Emporium, Bedder's Bank for the Bold, and the casinos, had to close its doors.

Garth's fate remains a mystery, his last mention found in the Tale of Skara Brae: "...Defenders fell, their bane come true, Garth, Roscoe, Kylearan, too! As doom approached, the helpless fled. It did no good, the streets ran red..."3.
